Acumen Safety is rooted in Sheffield
Sheffield is a fantastic city to live and work in. We can be in London in a little over 2 hours, and most of the music festivals that we look after are within a three-hour drive. Sheffield sits in the middle of England which makes it a perfect home base for a busy company with clients all over.
Our head office is in Sheffield and several of our key clients are based in Sheffield.
We want to convince our clients from further afield to come and visit us and have a look round our lovely Sheffield.
We’re a friendly lot in Sheffield. Walk down the street and you’ll likely hear ‘ey up, duck’, ‘na then pal’, or at least get a friendly smile on your way. It’s the Sheffield way.
There’s a lot going on in Sheffield. The city is a hive of creative activity. The old steel mills are steadily being turned into offices, workshops, and event spaces. We have a growing food hall industry across the steel city, a great nighttime economy and of course, Tramlines Festival.
Sheffield is full of creatives, many of them keeping the little mesters approach of our cutlery industry and specialising in a specific skillset. The collaboration that goes on in the city produces some incredible work!
Sheffield is the greenest city in Europe. The list of green spaces and public parks goes on and on, as does the list of community and commercial events that the parks host in the summertime. Sheffield is a city of events, music and trees.
There’s a lot of construction happening in Sheffield right now. The Heart of the City project is well underway and the city centre is rapidly changing. We’re excited for the future of Sheffield, and we hope that this investment into the city will re-animate and enliven the place. Bringing new businesses, new people and a new event space to the centre of Sheffield can only be a good thing in our opinion.
Known as The Outdoor City, Sheffield is on the edge of the Peak District National Park. When we’re not building safety systems or meeting clients, our team love to get out and enjoy the gritstone edges and heather moorland of Sheffield’s neighbouring Derbyshire. Living in Sheffield puts world class climbing on your doorstep – if you’re not too risk averse to enjoy it!
A city of seven hills and seven rivers, living in Sheffield will keep you fit. Whether you walk or cycle around the city, you’re guaranteed to encounter some pretty serious hills. They get a little trickier when Sheffield is covered in snow, and you want to keep on top of handbrake maintenance if you’re a car owner, but the hills certainly get our heartrate up!
We have access to several really great training rooms across Sheffield. This means that when we’re delivering our IOSH training courses we can make sure that the venue suits the attendees. It’s important to us that our training venues have enough space, the right facilities and are easily accessible to our learners.
