Courses designed to keep your event safe

Live events carry hazards you won’t find in an office or on a factory floor, and generic health and safety training courses are never written with these in mind. Examples don’t fit, standards used aren’t quite right, and you come away with the same questions you arrived with.

All of our course trainers work in live events, meaning they speak your language, understand your challenges, and bring their real-world experience to the classroom.

Meet our course creator,
Olly Galvin.

Olly has been working in the events industry for more than 20 years. He holds a NEBOSH qualification, is an IOSH Technical Member and has a Level 4 in Spectator Safety. He also kept running into the same problem:

“I’ve encountered a lot of challenging situations throughout my career and haven’t found health and safety training that addresses the specific needs of our industry. I created this course to fill that gap and make the events industry a safer place to work.”

Each trainer in our team works in live events right now, meaning they understand that hazards in the events industry are unique. They bring their real-world experience into the classroom.

How our health and safety courses work

Without training built for events, gaps stay hidden until the day they matter, and you or your team end up working out the answers on site. With it, you and your team know what to look for, what to do about it and how to run an event with confidence. Here’s how it works:

  • Choose your course - pick the training which fits your role in live events
  • Decide whether you want to learn as part of our open sessions or design a session to be delivered in-house
  • Book your space. We’ll prepare any learning materials you need during the course
  • Leave with your IOSH certification and knowledge you can apply to your next event

Teams we've trained

Manage or supervise a stadium, venue or sports ground team

Leading a university events crew

Running a crewing company

Organising festivals and events

Delivering events in venues

Built for the people who make events happen

Live events only work because of the people on site: planning, supervising, crewing and running them. Every one of them carries responsibility for keeping everyone else safe, and this course is built to help them do it properly.

If you’d rather learn alongside your own people, we can design an in-house session around your venue, events and challenges. Your team trains together on the things that matter to your operation, and everyone leaves with the same understanding of how to work safely.

Match days bring big crowds, tight turnarounds and plenty of moving parts.

Great course will definitely be putting my management team on it in the future. Delivery was engaging and thought provoking which is difficult on an online platform but was definitely achieved.
